Our weekly weather forecast no longer has continuous triple digits, a leaf or two may have hit the ground, and Starbucks has officially released Pumpkin Spice so it’s basically Fall in Arizona!
As I prepare my house and horses for the upcoming cooler weather, I’m also searching for new recipes for that Fall ‘taste’ to illuminate all our pallets – including our horses!
While searching the World Wide Web, I found a new equine-friendly treat. It seemed to have the Fall feel I’m looking for: Fall Pumpkin Cinnamon Horse Cookies. I’m a HUGE pumpkin fan so anything that contains that tasty ingredient and I’m sold!
Here is everything you need to know about these fall horse cookies:
Ingredients:
- 1⁄2 can of pumpkin (Libby’s is my personal favorite!)
- 1 tbsp. cinnamon
- 2 1⁄4 cup of oats (Quaker will work perfectly)
- 1⁄4 cup molasses
- 1⁄2 cup of brown sugar
How To:
Preheat the oven to 400 degrees and butter up that cookie sheet so those bad boys don’t stick! In a large mixing bowl combine all the ingredients listed above. Once everything is combined, roll them into balls and place them on your baking sheet and let them bake for twelve to fifteen minutes. BOOM! You now have baked a tasty Fall treat for your furbaby AND made your house smell lovely!
This recipe has me loving the fact that there are few ingredients and it’s easy to make. Of course, when you treat your horse to this delicious cookie remember to not overdo it. Too much sugar can be dangerous for your beloved equine friend so instead of giving them a few at a time try to do just half of one or one a day.
If you have made these before or something like them I’d love to hear from you! Drop a comment below or message me on my personal Instagram @unbridledmama. Let’s swap some recipes and get that Fall vibe rolling y’all!
