Most of us are familiar with the old standby grooming tools: body brush, curry comb, mane and tail brush, etc. But these days, there are a number of new grooming gadgets on the market that can help make life with horses even easier. Here are a few you may just want to run out and get!

StripHair® Gentle Groomer™

This versatile grooming tool removes loose hair, dirt, and dander while also adding shine to the coat. Works to massage, work in shampoo, squeegee water, or remove hair and dirt.

Weaver Leather® Breakdown Brush

This rubber brush helps to remove show day adhesive and paint on horses or cattle. The brush also helps to break up surface dirt and dust, loosen shedding hairs, and remove sweat marks.

SleekEZ Shedding Block

This shedding block is an alternative to the traditional curry comb (which some horses may be too sensitive for) and is great for removing loose, shedding hair, dirt and dander without damaging the hair coat.

Schneider’s Magnetic Jelly Massage Curry

Combining massage and magnetic therapy, this curry brush is a great way to end a long training or show session. It helps to increase blood flow to the muscles, soothe aches and stiff muscles, and stimulate the skin.

Epona The Ulta-Mitt™

This mitt can be used as a bathing mitt or used dry to remove dirt, dust, and sweat marks. It also helps to stimulate natural oil production in the hair coat, giving your horse a natural shine.

Radius Rasps

If your horse is barefoot, the radius rasps (RR-1 and RR-2) are easy-to-use tools which are great for keeping your horse’s feet in shape between farrier visits. When used together, these two rasps can help to maintain your horse’s mustang roll and prevent toe flaring.

Tail Boot

The Tail Boot is a durable alternative to the traditional tail bag and is a great way to protect your horse’s tail. Constructed of a neoprene, waterproof shell, it comes in a variety of sizes to fit all horses. Comes with a synthetic tail extension to allow your horse to use his tail as normal.
