Many of us have found ourselves with plenty of free time lately, with Netlfix and mundane house chores our only reprieve. But if you’re a horse lover (which I have a feeling many a blog reader here are), then the good news is that there’s an almost endless supply of horse-related activities that can help keep boredom at bay. Here are a few examples:

Make a Horse Shoe Craft

If you have extra horse shoes lying around, there are all sorts of crafty things you can do with them. One of the easiest crafts involves painting and/or adding bling to make a decorative wall hanging, but you can also make a picture frame or a horse shoe dream catcher. Pinterest has a plethora of ideas when it comes to horse shoe crafts, so take a look, if you’d like.

Style Your Horse’s Mane

Horse shows may be canceled for now, but who says you can’t give your horse a fancy new style? Try French braiding or this cool banded style with your horse’s mane. Placing a few spring flowers in can add a lovely touch as well!

Tackroom Makeover

If your tack room is anything like mine, it could probably use a little sprucing up, and  fortunately, you don’t need expensive or even store-bought products for a makeover. Instead, use some creativity and recycle supplies you already have on hand. For example, an old shelf can be used to store supplements or medical supplies. Wire baskets or old supplement containers make great storage bins for smaller items like polo wraps, bits, or grooming supplies. PVC pipe can be used to make saddle blanket or bridle racks, and even rake or shovel holders (again, see Pinterest). The possibilities are endless!

Teach Your Horse a Trick

If you’re feeling a little more adventurous, then why not teach your horse a trick? All you need is some time, patience, and treats and you can teach your horse the leg forward trick or even the bow. Just think of how impressed your friends will be at your next trail ride or show!

Do a Horse Jigsaw Puzzle

If you’re in need of another rainy day boredom buster, why not get the whole family involved in completing a horsey jigsaw puzzle? Don’t have one? No problem. You can easily order one like this online.

If you have other horse-related boredom busters, feel free to share in the comments below!
