Spoil your favorite equine friend with a fun-filled day.

You don’t need a spouse or boyfriend to celebrate Valentine’s Day. Your horse will be
mighty happy if you choose them to be your valentine on this special day. This fun
holiday is all about celebrating love, friendship, and admiration. While most prefer
flowers, candy, and jewelry, your horse would probably like something a little different.

How to Celebrate Valentine’s Day with Your Horse
A special ride: Saddle up and ride through some scenic trails. What better way to enjoy
the day than to get out of the arena and see nature’s beauty. Your horse will likely
appreciate some new scenery. There’s no better way to connect with your horse than
on a quiet trail ride together. If you have a friend, invite them along and make it a
special Galentine’s Day ride.

Buy them a massage: Who doesn’t love a good massage! Equine massage therapy is
known to loosen tight muscles, increase blood flow, and reduce stress. If you can’t
afford a professional, then check out some YouTube videos and try some basic
techniques yourself.

Grooming session: Pamper them with a long grooming session. Don’t forget the
rubber curry! You can groom them in the barn or take them outside to graze while you
brush. What an enjoyable experience for your horse. They’ll be looking and feeling their
best.

Bake them a tasty treat: Grab your oven mitts and kitchen apron because it’s about to
get messy and yummy. If you love baking, then why not try a simple DIY horse treat
recipe.

Apple Horse Cookies
Special thanks to Wilco for the recipe!

Ingredients:
 3 cups rolled oats
 ½ cup flour
 1 apple, diced
 ¼ cup molasses (honey can be used as a substitute)
 1 TBSP vegetable oil
 TBSP of salt, not iodized (optional)

Steps:
1. Preheat the oven to 350F.
2. Line a baking sheet with tin foil. Spray with a little cooking oil.
3. Mix all of the ingredients and roll them into little balls.

4. Bake for 15 minutes, or until light brown around the edges.
5. Allow them to cool and let your horses ENJOY.

Book a photoshoot: Memories exist in photos. You can look back at these captured
moments of you and your horse and remember all of your fond times together. We
never know how long we have with a particular horse, so make sure to get as many
pictures together as you can. One day you’ll really appreciate them.

Your horse is easy to impress. Most are like oversized toddlers! They
enjoy snacks and toys. You can find so many goodies at your local tack or feed store,
including treats, jolly balls, Himalayan rock salt, treat ball feeders, scratchers, and apple
stall snacks. Have some fun with it!

Valentine’s Day doesn’t have to be celebrated with a romance love interest. It can be
enjoyed with your horse, a friend, family, or anyone else special. There are all types of
love in this world!
